**Attention all Plungers/Spectators: THE POLAR DIP HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO SEVER WEATHER PREDICTED FOR THE REGION THIS SATURDAY. THE NEW DATE WILL BE SATURDAY FEBRUARY 20, 2010.

Registration for the Polar Dip starts at 1:00 p.m. with the Plunge at 2:00 p.m.

Camp Sunshine is pleased to announce the 2010 Virginia Polar Dip. We believe that together we can send many more children with life-threatening illnesses and their families to our one-of-a-kind retreat in Maine. This year, our goal is to raise $25,000 which will allow 16 families from the VA/MD/DC area to come to Camp Sunshine.

Participants are welcome to come back to BodyByGeoff after the plunge for an after plunge party! Snacks and beverages provided by Jasmine Cafe. We will also be announcing the total raised at this party.

Why a Virginia based event for a camp in Maine?

Since the start of Camp Sunshine in 1984, we have provided a haven for more than 32,000 family members from 47 states and 17 countries. Sadly, even with multiple sessions being added annually at Camp Sunshine, there are still many more children being newly diagnosed each year. Our program continues to be recommended by more than 100 treatment centers across the nation.

Our program is recommended by the following Virginia-area treatment centers: University of Virginia Children's Hospital, Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters, Medical College of Virginia, Children's National Medical Center in D.C., Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Delaware, Johns Hopkins Children's Center in Maryland, and University of Maryland Hospital for Children.
